February 23, 2013

13 gallons of gas: $55.98.  It's back up to $4.29 a gallon.

Haircut with scissor-happy stylist: $55.00.  My hair grows like kudzu, so it won't make any difference by the end of next month.

Parking garage in Hollywood: $12.00

Daily total: $122.98

February 22, 2013

Postage: $1.69

Return postage for ring that didn't fit: $6.95

Turkey and roast beef spinach wrap: $4.99

Pizza from Little Caesar's: $5.45

Microsoft Zune from Ebay: $51.00.  I had one of these in 2007 and loved it, but it got broken.  Microsoft discontinued the Zune altogether last year, but I think this is the best MP3 player I have ever owned.  It's a toss-up between this and the Creative Zen 6GB; I absolutely hated the Ipod function on the Iphone that I used to own.

Chicken stir fry: $4.99.  It's kind of hard to mess up stir fry, but the cafeteria at work managed to do it anyway.  Would you like some grease to go with your chicken and vegetables?

Daily total: $55.99

February 21, 2013

Turkey sandwich and bag of Cheetos: $3.28

Groceries from Food 4 Less: $13.39

No spending:-)

February 16, 2013

Return postage for jacket that didn't fit: $6.95

Groceries from Trader Joe's: $75.33.  I haven't been here for a few months.  Two Buck Chuck, the $1.99 store brand wine, is technically no longer two bucks.  The price has gone up to $2.49.

Biscuit and gravy breakfast at work cafeteria: $1.69.

Lunch: $6.68.  $3.49 for the lentil chips and $3.19 for the Kraft Lunchable.  Both items equally tasteless.

McDonald's filet-o-fish combo: $5.88.  I could care less that's it's Lent, but you would think they would maybe do a special on this because so much of the world is doing meatless Fridays for the next 6 weeks.  No price break, though.

Daily total: $14.25

February 14, 2013

Return postage for 2 pairs of shoes that didn't fit: $8.95

Turkey burger combo: $6.97

My headlight burned out on the way to work.  Replacement bulb: $11.98.  Honda needs to get a clue: no one should have to remove the air intake in order to reach the headlight and change the bulb.

Daily total: $27.90

February 13, 2013

Little Debbie peanut butter bar: $0.50.  Generic Zyrtec allergy medication:$4.29.  The allergy meds had the most wasteful packaging ever.  Thirty tablets in a gigantic bottle that could have held 250, and the paper box it came in was three times the size of the bottle.

Twiggy of London Union Jack jewelry: $69.70

Daily total: $74.49

February 12, 2013

Gluttony at Pink's Hot Dogs: $11.90

Stuff from Target: $55.39.  I returned one of the ankle braces that I purchased earlier this month and purchased a different brand that fit better.  The envelopes are to ship 2 of the 15 items that I sold on Ebay today.

Daily total: $67.29

February 09, 2013

4 loads of laundry: $12.50

Korres shower gels and lotions: $37.10.  Incredibly expensive compared to what I could buy at a drug store, but this brand simply works better for my dry skin.

Money well spent a long time ago: about $7 for the socks and $20 for the yoga pants.  The socks have stretched to the point where they slide into my shoes and rotate around the soles of my feet.  I think I purchased them in early 2009.  I bought the yoga pants while living in New Zealand in 2007; the drawstring finally broke.

Money not well spent: the giant bottle of Miracle Whip.  I ended up throwing half of it out.  The large bottle cost $2.93, versus the $4.53 that I would have paid for a smaller bottle that would have been completely used up.
Milk that never got opened before it went bad: $1.62

Daily total: $49.60
Total wasted:$3.44

Daily total: $5.99

Meatless Monday is an international public health initiative that encourages people to eat vegetarian on Monday, to both improve their own health and the health of the environment.  I had tofu yesterday, and tofu for lunch today.  Dinner was the KFC Monday special: $4.34.  So much for meatless Monday this week.

Daily total: $4.34

Super Bowl Sunday. I ordered Thai food times two; the second one is tomorrow's lunch.  $18.00.

Decided to visit the Ontario Mills Outlet Mall.

Breakfast at Chik Fil A: $5.71

Patterns from Joann Frabrics: $17.19.  I really don't know how to sew, so my projects are probably already doomed.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Company cookie: $2.00

MAC lipgloss: $11.88

Swimsuit from JC Penney: $26.99

Champion sports bras: $36.70.  The purple one doesn't fit, and there's no way I'm going back to return it.  So it's going to be listed for sale on Ebay.

Clarks shoes: $172.72.  They will probably all have the heels worn off before the end of the year.  Have had foot issues over the years; my shoes just don't last very long.

Miscellaneous stuff from Target, including ankle braces for unhappy feet: $34.61

Moving Comfort sports bra from Dick's Sporting Goods: free:-)  It was technically $28.99 but I had a $30 rebate voucher.

Late lunch at IKEA on the way home.  Swedish meatball combo: $5.64

The printer ink I ordered on Ebay was in my mailbox when I got home.  Just in time to do taxes this weekend. $14.99.

3 loads of laundry: $9.75.  I had to change laundromats because the one in my Koreatown neighborhood was packed to capacity.  So I went about a mile in the opposite direction and found one in Little Armenia.

Daily total: $ 338.18

Fish dinner of questionable quality from cafeteria at work: $5.99

Daily total: $5.99
